Randomness!! Of Weddings, Placements, Rejects, flashmobs, friendship, love and life!!!!

Since the world did not end as the Mayans predicted, I, alive and all fine, entered yet another calendar year in my life! Wish you all a very happy 2013!! This year, hopefully, will bring a lot of positive things in my life!! AMEN!!
Well, the year started with an awesome new year party with friends! A rejection soon followed as I was not made a final offer at L'Oreal, after 24 hours of train journey to Mumbai, 20 minutes of randomest (I know the word does not exist, but the interview was as random as the word!) interview and 10 days of "she is put on hold, we will get back to you ASAP on her" and 8000 bucks of reimbursement due!!!! But I have always been a strong believer of the saying "Whatever happens; happens for a reason, and most importantly, a good reason!"  and I am pretty sure 2013 has better things in hold for me! AMEN!!!!! AGAIN!

Well, things which keep me busy these days,
1. Wishing people on their engagement on social networking sites!
2. Wishing people on their wedding on social networking sites!
3. Wishing people on their new born babies
4. Thinking about my wedding
5. Talking about my wedding
6. Browsing about my wedding
7. Repeating steps 1 to 6 endlessly!!!!!!

I don't know why is this happening! I never thought I would be so prepared to get married!! I guess the "Love is in the air and wedding pictures are on Facebook" are doing the trick. Or rather, after 6 years of courtship, I feel a long distance relationship is no more possible for me to sustain!. Or to simplify things and play the blame game - Heaven has planned this for me!

I keep on browsing through all those wonderful wedding pictures online, smiling like an idiot to my laptop screen! Hear to wedding songs, discuss things with my friends and Mom and Sis! I even have a secret Pinterest album with all my dream wedding stuff!! :) I guess I am just getting ready for the most wonderful phase of my life! Placements seem irrelevant to me, but IIMB keep me reminding me of that continuously - need to land myself in a  good job! But now, there are more to my life than placements and salary!

BTW! I participated in first flashmob of my life! :P

Ok coming back! So I guess you get the picture, that I have been thinking a lot, dancing, and staying khush these days! I think "Nothing Else Matters"! Love changes the way you see the world, and marriage changes the way you see the one you love!! :)

Wish its a HAPPY 2013 for me!!

AMEN!! AMEN!! AMEN!!!

Ashamed to be an Indian!

Today, I am ashamed calling myself an Indian. I am ashamed of calling myself a student of one of the best colleges in India. Today, I am ashamed being born as a human.
Why was I born in India? A country where women are raped, killed, tortured!!
I started this post... thinking of so many things to write! Of ways that things can be changed! But I guess.,.. some things go beyond words!
R.I.P Brave heart!
We all know what we have to do!!!! Just start doing that!! Please!!! India needs awakened Indians! God bless us all!!!

Random from B!

I don't understand why I always end up writing blog posts when I am actually supposed to do something more important (Studying for exams which start on Sunday for instance!)!! Anyways! Now that I have decided to pen down something, let me take you through some random snapshots of my life since my last post!
So... Since the last post.. It has been a 3 month affair now! I am done with my summer internship at L'Oreal and have been selected for PPP ;) :) :) I enjoyed my stay there. Loved my project! Obviously I had too.. It was all fashion, make up and Facebook! :)
One thing that I loved about that place was it imbibed a feeling of self confidence and worthiness in me! "Because You are worth it" was actually put to practice there! I never ever thought I would walk on ramp some day! I did that there! :)
Mumbai was awesome! The two months will always remain as a beautiful memory in my heart! :)
Mr. Aggarwal! You made my stay at Mumbai all the more worthwhile! After 13 months!!!! I Love You! <3

Now back in Bangalore.. as a PGP2 (Yayiie), I start the 2nd innings of my life at B! The thought of leaving this place in the next 10 months make my heart sink! B is the best thing that has happened to me! I want this to go on forever!

Now life is all the same here! I am getting more chance to hold gyaan sessions.. for the fachches :) I so love doing that.. pata hai na! :)
Anyways! Life is great! I love it here!

I am glad to have my bro Abhilash back with me! I miss Daddu, but he seems to be occupied with more important people now! But these two people are the most important thing that B has given me! :) :)

Miss Mom and Dad! They are alone in Surat now.. since Dimpy has started work at Hyderabad! Feel bad and want to go back to them :(
N ab mujhe shaadi bhi karni hai jaldi se! Mr. Aggaral! Are you listening?

Ab please aap sab bhi pray karo ki meri life set ho jaaye jaldi se! :)

Tata! Ciao! Have fun!

Mumbai Diaries - I

The journey started with me getting placed with L'Oreal as a summer intern and getting my initial location as Mumbai!!
Unsure about the date of joining, I hoped to celebrate my 25th birthday here.. But, I ended up celebrating it at home like my 24 other birthdays. I am not complaining here! :) It was again one of my best birthdays! :)

So.. to start with.. I reached Mumbai on 8th of April, Sunday, accompanied by papa and 50 Kgs of luggage! Witnessed the high traffic local.. ended up travelling in a second class dabba in a local with a first class ticket (tht had cost us 10 times the 2nd class ticket!) , standing among the sweat drenched crowd who give u the worst sensation when they brush their sweat soaked body against yours! Finally, after an hour journey in local train from Borivali to Mumbai Central, followed by a 5 minutes taxi ride to our hotel, I landed at the my abode for the next one week, Hotel Balwas International.

A sparkling Aston Martin parked right outside the hotel entrance made me glad, and rose my expectations from the hotel to almost double of its value 5 mins ago!
The place was decent.. I checked in in my room (Room no 108 - this was just for me to remember.. u guys can start reading from the next line! :P). I shared my room officially with Moushami and unofficially with Chedup, a batchmate and my official roommate's official boyfriend! :)The stay there was pleasant with small complaints which are trivial enough to be avoided from this blog post! The HR at L'Oreal told me that my location would be Bangalore, and with it thus ended, my never ending search for a place to stay in Mumbai.

Our induction session began the next day. Curious, anxious new interns made their way in to the PING PONG Hall at the Peninsula COrporate Park. The day was spent eating, and listening to various people from company including the MD, HR head, Marketing head for Kerastase and others sharing their experience. Next day we were taken to the company factory at Chakan in Pune. We reported at 6 AM in the morning, and left in a bus. The trip was fun and I had an awesome time watching the production process out there. Its cool to see those shampoos and conditioners fill in the bottles, get sealed, get stamped and packed in a carton, all in a matter of few seconds!

We were back by 6. Me and Abhideep ended up in Phoenix mall (our regular hangout adda near office!).We were joined by Abhilash and Himanshu! Had a fun time doing vellapanti there, until it came to me ending up paying for the most expensive birthday treat ever! :P We went to the VEDAS at the Palladium, a place definitely suitable for the pockets of a 2 day old summer intern! I still owe deepa the amount for my bday treat! :P

I had started loving Mumbai! Fell in love with Marine Drive wen we went there on day 1. We include me, Himanshu, Shashank and Rachit. Had awesome gola, panipuri and falooda at Chowpatty! But I still maintain this.. Surat is the best place to have road side food!!!!

The 3rd day of the induction began at 3 PM in the afternoon. We were told our projects and guides. I was not going to bangalore!!!nYayiEE!! :):) :) I was so happy!!!! My gang was here.. Abhilash, Daddu,Himanshu, Shashank.. all my fav people from B! :) :) My product was Maybelline!! Yayieee!!! :P :) and My guide was Manashi Guha!! :) :) Yahyoe! :)

Again began house hunting session n stuff! I had mentally made up my mind to stay at Wilson College girl's hostel at Marine drive for two reasons! First I was absolutely in awe and in love with Marine drive! and second I was too lazy to go around with brokers hunting for house! So here I am at Pandita Ramabai Girl's Hostel, sharing my room with Harini and Dipannita, interns at J&J from IIMK and IIM A respectively! :)

We were sent to market visits at Bandra on the 4th and 5th day! Walking in the sun in the crowded streets, stopping at general and medical stores, and staring at the things finding out L'Oreal products, and doing some random analysis is what kept us busy for around 2-3 hours! On the second day, we bunked it, seeing the almost same shops again and went to linking road to shop! :P N yeah! Had super awesome chinese at 5Spice restaurant on day 1 :)

I am getting bored writing this now! Mumbai is fun, but writing a 2 week diary on a single day is not so fun!!!
Next is all market visits for the entire day except on Monday when I met my guide and spent the day in the office browsing web pages and brochures!

Will continue later in the next post!! Ciao!

Random @ B

The series of my random blog posts has almost come to a stand still! Sitting in the EPGP lounge,a place not meant for PGP students but mostly occupied by them, where they discuss their projects, assignments and the endless cases over the night, I thought of writing down another random post.
The placement process for PGP2s is on, and it sometimes make me feel ajeeb sa.. thinking that they will be leaving the campus soon. The placement process has never interested me and I hope it never does.
I have been here at B for almost 9 months now. And I feel I have matured as a human being here. People here still find me kiddish, but I feel that's inherent in me.. and I would never want this child in me to die.
I have my set of friends here.. and I love them for all they teach me. Everyone here is unique, special in their own ways... and u have a plethora of learning to learn from each one of them.
Abhilash, the most wonderful person B has given me, my brother and best friend here, one who taught me how to move on in life even when people let u down. To live and love unconditionally and the most valuable lesson that its "u" yourself who is the most important person in ur life.
Manuj, who taught me how its OK to do certain things in life.. which society do not approve of.. but just because its ur life and u have all the rights to live it ur way! :)
Tushar, a bundle of joy and hope, giving me reasons that u still have time to think abt urself inspite of the hectic life!
Neha, age is just a number, U r a teenager at heart till u want to be! :) :)
Amol, again..age is just a number... u r a kid at heart till u want to be! :):):) Sacrifices made for the people u love the most never go waste!
Siddharth, chase ur dreams and work towards it.. they do come true! :)
Kenil... Never let ur weaknesses be ur weaknesses.. make it ur strength! Kudos!! :)
Daddu... Being phlegmatic does help!! People do accept u the way u r.. and do not get hurt.. even wen u say things to hurt them! I know I can write this here.. coz hez never gonna read my blog! :P ;)
Shashank... Feelings and Relationship are hindrances in the path of ur goal... never let this happen. Prioritize things in ur life and follow them in that order!
Himanshu... A balanced life is the best way to live it! A give and take relationship.. in the best way! Tit for Tat... the best way to settle things! :)

These people have taught me lessons for a lifetime!
But they did teach me that they are all a temporary phase in my life... and will part ways.. once time come!

I understand that the philosophy quotient of my blog posts is getting high with each post! Will be back with my regular post of updating you guys with whats happening with me... movies..books... sitcoms.. events... everything!!!!

Till then... ciao!! :) :) :)

Employed! :P

Oh yeah!!! Will be interning at L'Oreal in Summer 2012! :)

Well... the last week,,, was a hell of a week!! IIMB saw its largest ever batch of 368 students get their summer internships, of which I was a part!

The week and the month before that brought myriad faces of human nature before everyone. Emotions overflowed, faces that were camouflaged lied their naked, unveiled and I saw it all. Witnessed the great Indian (Read Indian Institute of Mgmt) placement drama! The one I read abt, heard abt through media till last year.

It was hell of a time, a time when you learnt the goods and the bads, time when experienced the best and the worst, time when you saw Human Beings, as they are.. not the ones created by God, but the ones sinned by Adam and Eve!
Its a rat race! Run.. Run... and Run!!!
Run.. else you will be trampled, Run..else you will be mocked.. Run..else you will be murdered..ruthlessly, mercilessly!!

12th November 2011 - the date! The date, when I got my first job (yeah i understand its only an internship.. but still), the date which will probably wipe out the memories of the dark times associated with 12th November 2005! The date which will provide me a new reason, a more positive, optimistic and happier reason to remember 12th November! :)

It was not easy, but few people held my hand and helped me walk on this turbulent journey all the while! A special thanks to Mom, Dad, Dimpy, Bhaski, my school and colege frnz, PGP2s and last but not the least my batchmates..my friends at B here.. Neha, Tushar, Amol, Manuj, Siddharth, Daddu, and my section E and other batchmates!!
Thank u guys for making this journey memorable!
Love u all! :) :)

Because you guys are worth it! :)
